The World Health Organization (WHO) defines ‘improved sanitation facility’ as one that hygienically separates human excreta from human contact. Eighty-five percent (85%) of the households have unimproved toilet facilities. Sixty percent (60%) from this group make use of hanging toilet or hanging latrine, while 23% use bucket/pail or arinola. Three percent (3%) or 26 households have no toilet facility at all. Sixty-three percent (63%) of the households with improved toilet facilities utilize flush to septic tank, while 26% use flush to pit latrine.
